Welcome to UNUHE. Our CEO and Founder was born in Burma and then lived in Mae La Refugee Camp in Thailand. Her family resettled in the United States in 2008, where she obtained her bachelors degree in Psychology and Social Work, and is working toward her Master Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
A Native Karen speaker, our Founder also speaks S'Gaw Karen, Pwo Karen, Burmese, and Thai.
Prior to serving as a Program Manager, our CEO and Founder served as a Case Manager and Community-Based ESL Program Coordinator for refugee and immigrant families.

There are many language groups among the Burmese people and among these language groups there are four major languages— Burmese, Karen, Kachin, and Chin. The country has great linguistic diversity given that there are various dialects within each language group with completely different sound systems and writing systems. Our experienced staff comes from many ethnic communities of Burma to give you the most authentic and culturally relevant services you will find.
